Sardine Run

Baja's Wildest Ocean Adventure

Dive into chaos. Chase bait balls. Swim with marlin. Welcome to the most thrilling underwater spectacle Baja has to offer.

Each November and December, millions of sardines gather off the coast of Baja, setting the stage for one of the ocean’s most explosive events—the Baja Sardine Run. And where the sardines go, their predators follow.

Join Baja Odyssey on a high-adrenaline expedition to witness this frenzy firsthand. Slip into the water and find yourself surrounded by sea lions, dolphins, striped marlin, skipjack tuna, and more, all hunting in fast, furious, and awe-inspiring bait ball action.

This is the ocean at its rawest—a spectacle of speed, power, and survival. You might also encounter megapods of dolphins, turtles, Bryde’s whales, and if luck is truly on your side, maybe even a pod of orcas or a newborn humpback calf exploring the world for the first time.

This is not for the faint of heart!!!

Expect long, action-packed days from sunup to sundown. There will be calm stretches of searching, punctuated by sudden moments of wild intensity. But you’ll walk away salt-streaked, sun-kissed, and full of memories that will last a lifetime.
